Understanding and teaching the Holocaust poses significant scholarly and pedagogical challenges. The Professional Certificate in Holocaust Studies promotes the latest scholarship on the Holocaust and it provides teachers with material and experiences (including study trips to Auschwitz and Berlin) to enhance teaching about the Holocaust in the classroom. The programme is supported by the Holocaust Education Trust Ireland (HETI). UCD’s world-renowned experts will introduce students to the most recent scholarly debates about the origins, course, and legacies of the Holocaust. Students will access to UCD Library resources, including e-books and e-journals. Students will also take study trips to Auschwitz and Berlin to explore how the Holocaust has been commemorated. Students will pay €1,295 to Holocaust Education Ireland to cover the cost of these two trips.
