Students are strongly advised to balance their workload evenly across both trimesters by choosing 30 credits per trimester. Students should take the core modules IR10160 Scileanna Teanga & Litríocht and IR10170 Cúlra & Litríocht na Gaeilge plus two option modules in trimester 1. For trimester 2, students should take core modules IR10040 Teanga na Gaeilge I, IR10180 Bunscileanna Aistriúcháin and IR10190 An Ghaeilge Acadúil plus an elective module OR the elective substitution option DSCY10100 Storytelling.

Students will have the opportunity to take up any combination of: trimester exchange, internship, Gaeltacht placement or take UCD modules in stage 3. Students who remain in UCD for the full academic year must take 50 credits from the course curriculum plus 10 credits of electives.

As this is a new pathway, with its first stage 1 intake in 2021/22, the stage 4 programme curriculum structure is indicative only at this point and subject to change. It is planned that a TLA Pathway module TBA Teanga, Litríocht & Aistriúchán (10cr) will be included as a core module and IR30370 Gaeilge na hAlban (5cr) will also be included in the options list.
