The Graduate Certificate in Statistics is a part-time programme over two trimesters.

The programme provides the students with both foundational modules on probability and statistics, as well as a wide range of more advanced and specialised statistics modules. The foundational modules offer a formal preparation on the mathematical aspects of probability and statistics. At the same time, the students gain access to advanced statistics modules which allow them to specialise in a particular area of interest.

This programme is ideal for part-time students who are interested in gaining an advanced knowledge of a specific area of statistics, in that the programme offers a streamlined pathway into achieving this goal, within two trimesters. In addition, the programme can be used to gain access to other graduate degrees, such as the EMOS-certified MA Statistics or the MSc Statistical Data Science.

The Graduate Certificate in Statistics does not require any prior knowledge of statistics, however, a demonstrated numerical ability is essential.

About This Course

 - Approach problems in an analytical, precise and rigorous way

 - Demonstrate strong proficiency in the mathematical aspects of probability and statistics

 - Model real-world decision-making problems using a formal statistical framework

 - Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and strong proficiency in an advanced statistics topic or area

 - Use the language of logic to reason correctly and make deductions
