Research data management in social sciences and humanities

 

General Information

Research data are generated and collected in almost all research projects and research data management is an integral part of good scientific practice. However, researchers face various challenges managing, documenting and preserving their research data. This 2-hour workshop offers a general introduction to the various aspects of research data management in social sciences and humanities. We will go through the following topics: what is data, data documentation, storing solutions by UCD IT Services, opening data, and publishing and archiving research data in data depositories. The workshop will also signpost to valuable open source resources available to help with the data management and creation of data management plans.

This workshop will be of interest to PhD students, early career researchers, and established academics who would like to learn how to manage research data effectively. No previous knowledge is required!
