Long Description:	The income from funds subscribed on the retirement of Professor Michael Herity, who taught in the Department of Archaeology in University College Dublin from 1961 to 1994, is used to award a prize. It will be awarded to the Single Honours Archaeology student who achieves first place in second year (based on the performance in semester 1 and semester 2 assessment in the second year), with a GPA of 3.8 or higher. The annual value of the prize is €300, depending on the current state of the fund.
