| This Medal will be awarded annually at the SSRA Student Research Symposium in the October of each Year. The Summer Student Research Award (SSRA) Scheme is an undergraduate research initiative to support and showcase Undergraduate Research affiliated with the UCD School of Medicine and Medical Science (SMMS). Each year our students are competitively selected based on academic record and interview for selection as an SSRA undergraduate researcher. These research projects are submitted by investigators affiliated with and within the School and are financially supported by the SMMS. In most cases, the SSRA scheme gives our students there first experience with either laboratory or clinical based research which takes place over an 8-week period during the Summer months. On completion of the projects, SSRA students are competitively adjudicated following oral presentation of their work for the SSRA Gold Medal. |
