Long Description: Grant Thornton has provided placements over a number of years for students undertaking the Professional Work Experience (PWE) module as part of the BAgrSc (Food and Agribusiness Management) degree programme. The positive experience of Grant Thornton to the BAgrSc students has resulted in their commitment to provide a monetary award fund of €1,000 to recognise student excellence in the area of financial studies within the BAgrSc (Food and Agribusiness Management) degree programme. The award fund is specifically for students undertaking Financial Planning and Control (AERD 30050) as a core module as part of their BAgrSc (Food and Agribusiness Management) degree programme.

Eligibility criteria:
To be eligible for consideration for a Grant Thornton Award in Financial Planning and Control, a student must be registered to the BAgrSc (Food and Agribusiness Management) degree programme.

The fund will provide for three monetary awards which will be presented to the eligible students with the highest overall grade in the module Financial Planning and Control (AERD30050). The awards will be distributed as follows: first prize €500, second prize €300 and third prize €200.

In the event of two or more students having the same final module grade, the student with the highest overall percentage grade in the module will be recommended for the award. Where two or more students achieve the same overall percentage grade in the module, the student with the highest percentage grade in the final written examination will be recommended for the award. Where two or more students achieve the same overall percentage grade in the module and the same overall percentage grade in the final written examination, the student with the highest percentage grade in the continuous assessment element of the module will be recommended for the award. Where two or more students achieve the same overall grade in the module and the same percentage grades in each of the components of the module (final written examination and continuous assessment) then the student with the highest number of A grades (A- A A+) over the first semester of Stage 3 of their degree programme will be recommended for the award.
