Long Description:	The prize is funded by the family of the late Patrick Dempsey who lectured in the Department of Horticulture from 1970 until his untimely death in 1985. The prize of approximately €300 is awarded annually to the student who obtains the highest grade in the module HORT 30050 Landscape Trees and Shrubs and who also reaches a sufficiently high standard in the Stage Three University Examination in Agricultural Science.
