Long Description: This prize commemorates William McFadden Orr, MRIA, FRS, formerly Professor of Pure and Applied Mathematics in University College Dublin. Professor Orr made fundamental contributions to the understanding of the stability of fluid flow.

The prize (currently a book token valued €130) is awarded to the candidate who obtains First Class Honours (3.68 GPA or higher) in Level 1 modules in Applied & Computational Mathematics and obtains 1st Place in their Applied & Computational Mathematics core modules within the 1st Academic year.
