| The College Executive at its meeting on the 5th May 2011 approved the establishment of a medal in Applied Microbiology sponsored by Diageo through UCD Foundation in honour and recognition of the contributions of Dr. Frank Lynch to our knowledge of the microbiology of brewing. The medal will be jointly administered by Admissions and the School of Biology and Environmental Science. The medal will be awarded annually to a Science student for the final year research project that is considered to make the most significant contribution to fundamental knowledge in the area of applied microbiology. The award commenced in the academic year 2011-2012. |
