Rationale for Establishment
The Centre will act as a focal point in the University to bring together scholars who investigate democracy as part of their research and teaching programme. It will provide a hub for networking and collaboration in developing research projects, teaching offerings and interdisciplinary co-supervision or RSP membership for PhD researchers; provide a basic organisational structure and support network for members to apply for grants and attract graduate/postdoctoral researchers; and provide greater visibility for democracy research that takes place in UCD.
