"This module will provide students with a comprehensive overview of the key aspects of the strategic management of talent in an organisation. Among the topic areas covered are include the key lements of talent management,; including talent acqusition, talent selection, onboarding, talent development, reward and performance management; strategies for retaining staff and strategies for downsizing an organisation; and HRM and corporate social responsibility.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module you should be able to:

• Explain the concepts of strategic HRM and talent management
• understand the relationship between business strategy, HR strategy and talent management. - Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the challenges and responsibilities associated with talent management practices
• Recognise, in the context of HR and talent management, ethical and social responsibility issues in the business environment - - - examine ethical and legal implications of managerial decisions and their effect on organisational stakeholders.
