The purpose of the SMA internship module is to offer students first-hand experience of working in managerial accounting at large, and to integrate their academic learning experience with effective on-the-job learning.

Learning Outcomes:

On completing the SMA Internship module, participants will be expected to be able to:
1) Integrate their business and managerial accounting knowledge and skills into a work-based setting;
2) Develop and display core professional and personal skills needed to operate effectively in a work-based setting;
3) Work collaboratively with colleagues, formally or informally, across business units within an organisation;
4) Demonstrate the ability to apply theory to business problems in relation to a case, project or situation on hand;
5) Evaluate the internship as a learning experience, focusing on their own performance and identifying areas for improvement designed to complement their learning in the preceding core modules.

SMA Internship eligibility depends on having achieved the required semester 1 minimum GPA as determined by the Accountancy subject area.
