1. To enable students to conduct an independent piece of research while exercising their creative, questioning, analytic and writing skills in a focused and practical manner;
2. To acquire an in-depth understanding of the relevant literature and key issues related to the
research topic;
3. To understand the steps involved in conducting research and to be able to critically assess the
advantages, disadvantages and appropriateness of different research methods;
4. To weigh up and critically evaluate the study’s research findings;
5. To communicate the study’s results in a coherent and well-structured research report
