People are an organization's most critical resources. Their experience, knowledge, and skills along with their creativity, effort, and engagement are the basis for competitive advantage. People propose new ideas or improvements to current products and processes. Therefore, the focus of this module is on the human side of innovation. This module offers in-depth insights into innovation management and organisational behaviour by examining the nature of individual and team behaviours in innovative work environments and by discussing how behaviours, emotions, and cognitions affect creativity and innovation. The module will discuss and explore different topics at the individual, the team, and the organisational level in class. For instance, it focuses on topics related to assessing and fostering creativity, innovator's resilience after failure experiences, organisational culture and change, and social innovation.

Participants are encouraged to explore the interconnected nature of the various topics to be covered and to develop a holistic and critical understanding of the subject. A variety of different teaching and learning methods will be applied (e.g., presentations, case studies, reflective exercises) and participants are expected to be actively involved in classes.

Learning Outcomes:

The objective of this module is to increase your understanding and abilities of how to effectively manage innovators in today’s work environments and develop organizations to remain competitive and innovative in today's fast changing world. At the end of the module, you should be able to:
1. … understand why individuals, leaders, and teams behave and interact as they do in innovative organisational contexts.
2. …apply concepts, tools, and theories useful for diagnosing and analysing innovators and innovative organisations and improve creativity.
3. …critically assess challenges and opportunities for today’s organisations and discuss and identify research and managerial implications at the intersection or organisational behavior and innovation management.
4. …reflect upon your competencies and traits so that you are able to become a more effective employee, co-worker, and leader.
