The course will provide students with no previous knowledge or experience of Human Resource Management (HRM) with an understanding of key issues and debates in the field of HRM at present. HRM is concerned with the management of people within organisations in a range of market economies. Instead of the passive or reactive approaches to staffing that characterised personnel and industrial relations management previously, there has emerged a new movement to develop proactive strategies that link staff management with the wider business strategies.
