A compressed module that will expose students to cutting edge applications of analytical tools and methods to real-world business problems. The module will encompass applications of optimisation methods, game theory and heuristics to topics drawn from transportation and logistics, sustainability in operations, strategic interactions in business, and artificial intelligence (AI) in business. A detailed literature review on a specific area in analytics based on the student’s choice can lead to a novel research idea.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the module students should be able to:

● Describe and distinguish the applications of various analytical tools to real-world business problems
● Apply various analytical techniques and tools to solve business problems.
● Describe in detail a recent line of research in analytics
● Develop a new research idea after studying existing literature in a specific area of analytics.
● Critique research ideas in analytics
