Among the topics covered in this module include: Important Financial Concepts - Time value of money, Risk and Return relationship, Valuation of assets; Long Term Investment Decisions - Capital budgeting process, Merger and Acquisition; Long Term Financing Decisions - Cost of Capital, Capital Structure, Dividend Policy; Short Term Financial Decisions - Working Capital management; Risk Management - the use of derivatives, forward futures and option contracts, the valuation of these and SWAP contracts.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this module, you should:
-Have developed an appreciation of the financial environment in which firms operate.
-Have developed an understanding of decisions involved in making investments and raising finance.
-Be able to demonstrate the ability to evaluate investment and financing alternatives.
-Be capable of differentiating between competing investments.
-Be aware of the advantages and disadvantages of capital budgeting techniques.
-Be familiar with non-exotic and exotic derivatives.
-Be aware of the important in merger decisions of financial evaluation.
