BMGT45370 Operations & SC (Mod)

Academic Year 2023/2024

This module is designed to provide students with an understanding of operations and supply chain management. Every organisation has the complex task of coordinating people, technology, information and materials to achieve its goals. Think of all the tasks and resources involved in the fulfilment of an order placed on an online shopping website or of what is required for the success of relief efforts after a major calamity. Operations and supply chain management is the science and art of designing and implementing the processes that create and deliver the goods or services provided by an organisation. The topics of this class
encompass a wide variety of subjects relevant to the decisions concerning the design and analysis of both internal production processes as well as processes that take place outside the organisation. In this module, you will be exposed to concepts and techniques useful for the management of procurement, sourcing and inventory, as well as capacity planning, demand management and quality management.
