The Professional Diploma in Education Studies programme is aimed at students who have an interest in deepening their knowledge of education matters and professionals working in areas related to education. The programme encourages students to engage broadly with education sciences and professional development. Students can select from a broad range of interdisciplinary subjects or develop their own strand within the diploma, such as focusing on the area of Mental Health and Wellbeing.

The Professional Diploma in Education Studies (PDES) is open to graduates with a general interest in Education and to qualified teachers who wish to continue their studies in Education issues such as teaching children with additional support needs, children's rights, curriculum and pedagogy, mentoring as professional development and mental health and wellbeing.
The Professional Diploma in Education Studies programme offers development to professionals working in areas related to education. Students must complete 30 credits from a wide range of modules on offer in the School. The programme enables students to engage broadly with education sciences and professional development or to develop their own strand within the diploma, such as Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Candidates applying to this programme will normally hold an honours degree at undergraduate level (NFQ Level 8 or international equivalent) from a recognized higher education institution. We welcome international applicants and advise that applicants, whose first language is not English, should have an IELTS overall score of 6.5, with no band below 6, or equivalent. Only applicants who have met the English language results will be considered.
