Occasional

The Advance Centre offers courses on Digital Transform in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) for part-time professional learners and full-time graduate students. The Centre is a collaboration between UCD, ATU and TU Dublin.

Advance Modular Study allows you to take individual modules from the Centre’s catalogue according to your learning needs and availability.  Most modules are online so that you can fit study around your work and life.

Modules successfully completed within the past 4 years can count towards Advance degree programmes which incorporate the module.

Part Time option suitable for:

Domestic(EEA) applicants: Yes
International (Non EEA) applicants currently residing outside of the EEA Region. No

ADVANCE Modular Study is for you if you:

  • are in full-time employment and want to study part-time
  • have a primary degree
  • want to upskill on a specific topic
  • don’t want to commit to a part-time degree programme
  • want to see if part-time study works for you with a view to starting a part-time degree course in future years
  • want to learn from experts in the field
  • want a pathway to a part-time degree programme 
  • want the recognition of completing a European Credit Transfer and Accumulation (ECTS) credit bearing module


 

Developed in consultation with employers, the ADVANCE Modular Study programme teaches skills essential to a wide spectrum of careers involved with the science, technology and engineering industries.  Career opportunities are broad depending on the module(s) chosen. 

Modules successfully completed within the past 4 years count towards ADVANCE degree programmes which incorporate the module

 

Fees are subject to change and are per credit

The number of credits varies depending on the module taken.

  • An honours undergraduate degree (NFQ level 8) with a minimum upper second class honours or international equivalence in a relevant Engineering, Science, Medicine or Technology programme. However, all applicants will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and relevant or extensive work experience will be taken into account.
  • Applicants whose first language is not English must also demonstrate English language proficiency of IELTS 6.5 (no band less than 6.0 in each element), or equivalent. For more information please click here.
