This third level course deals with diversity, classification, biology, functional morphology, life cycles and strategies for survival of the phylum Arthropoda, the largest and most successful animal group. Complimentary practical material reinforces theoretical concepts and exposes students to the taxonomic value of voucher material through instruction on collection and curation techniques. Presentation of a collection of mounted/pinned specimens is a component of the practical assessment.
