This module involves a 2 week placement in a veterinary practice environment offered to stage 2 students. It is a continuation to clinical placement S1 module to build knowledge and understanding of the role of the veterinary nurse in the veterinary practice environment. Students will continue to develop communication skills, professional behaviours and an ability to organise time and develop veterinary nursing competencies. A minimum level of attendance will be required in order to pass this module. All assessment components must be passed.
Restrictions and consequences due to Covid 19 means that timing of this module is likely to be effected.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module the student should be able to:
Identify the variety of roles within the veterinary practice, with particular focus on the veterinary nursing role;
Use effective communication skills with veterinary practice staff and clients;
Demonstrate professional behaviours and prioritise and organise their time;
Continue to develop veterinary nursing competencies appropriate to this stage of study.
