Upon successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Outline their objectives for their professional training in placements within the veterinary community and the professional conduct expected on those placements
Communicate effectively with a client in the clinical context using consultation skills to obtain an accurate and relevant history.
Discuss the legal framework and motivational and emotional barriers involved in euthanasia in large and small animal practice
Employ an effective evidence based medicine approach to clinical cases
Appraise and apply health and safety principles in a clinical setting
Apply the principles of the VCI code of professional conduct within an ethical framework to clinical cases
Reflect on issues for own personal and professional development such as diversity, dignity and respect, implicit bias and emotional intelligence
Apply business principles to a Veterinary practice with a particular focus on the cost of services and equipment.
