On completing the module students should be able to (1) demonstrate an understanding of how modern Ireland has been influenced by and responded to immigration. (2) demonstrate knowledge of how racism and lesser rights and entitlements afflect the well-being of immigrants and their life chances, (3) demonstrate an understanding of the role of social policy in integrating immigrants, with specific refeence to the Irish case
