On completion of this module students will have:
1. An insight regarding the social work role in a variety of practice settings and the key issues pertaining to these settings.
2. An understanding of basic communication and social work interviewing skills.
3. A comprehension of the importance of reflective practice in social work.
Content covered in the module will include basic communication and interviewing skills in the context of social work practice. Students will also be provided with an insight into different areas of social work practice such as adult safeguarding, child welfare and protection, and community development.
