This module focuses on the methods of visual sociology, thus on the way we can study society by producing, co-producing images , and/or using already existing representations of social phenomena.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will be able to use visual research methods (including photohistorias, photo-elicitation, and film-elicitation) and learn how to look at visual material such as photographs, videos, advertisements, graffiti, murals, selfies (to mention a few) as precious data for research.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
The teaching and learning approach involves lectures and in-class discussions. Students are invited to write down summaries of readings proposed each week, present them to the class and/or discuss about them in a group.
