The purpose of this module is to acquire an in depth knowledge about the specialised field of "event management" and to become familiar with management techniques and strategies required for successful planning, promotion, implementation and evaluation of events within a sport context. All course materials including summary lecture notes will be available on Brightspace.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On the completion of this module students should be able:

1. To acquire an understanding of the role and purpose(s) of events in sport.
2. To develop techniques and strategies required to plan successful events.
3. To acquire the knowledge and competencies required to deliver events.
4. To assess the quality and success of events. This will involve determining and conducting event assessment and evaluation measures.
