The purpose of this module is to acquire an indepth knowledge about the specialised field of "event management" and to become familiar with management techniques and strategies required for successful planning, promotion, implementation and evaluation of special events within a sport context. Learning Outcomes:

On the completion of this module students should be able:

1. To acquire an understanding of the role and purpose(s) of what special events in sport are.
2. To develop techniques and strategies required to plan successful special events.
3. To acquire the knowledge and competencies required to deliver special events.
4. To assess the quality and success of special events. This will involve determining and conducting event assessment and evaluation measures.
