On completion of this module, students should be able to:
(i) understand the nature of university education and students' role in independent learning;
(ii) apply various methods of note-taking from lectures, seminars and research sources;
(iii) search effectively for resources and information in the University Library;
(iv) reference sources appropriately using the Harvard system;
(v) present research findings using and appropriate writing style and assignment format;
(vi) critically review sources of information and knowledge;
(vii) design and deliver oral and visual presentations using technological aids where appropriate;
(viii) work together in formal and informal groups;
(ix) effectively prepare for formal examinations.
