SLL30070 Language experience abroad

Academic Year 2023/2024

This module is only for Stage 3 BComm (International) students, and assessment commences from October 2023. It aims to develop the sociolinguistic competence and other key language skills of students during their Erasmus studies by drawing on their socio-cultural experience and target-language awareness as they participate in programmes in the host country. In addition to students’ participation in their respective academic programmes, they are expected to become involved in day-to-day social activities through listening, reading, writing and speaking in the target language. A language exchange in the form of face-to-face Tandem language-learning and/or participation in language classes are integral components of this module and they will provide the basis for some of the reflection pieces that the students are required to submit. Assessment will be completed in the target language. The module will be delivered through Brightspace and it is a core requirement for the satisfactory completion of the Stage 3 Year Abroad.
