Curricular information is subject to change.

The broad objective of this module is to explore different facets of Business Analytics (BA) and discuss how and why the BA tools presented are relevant to organizations. The module is split into two parts. The former starts with data, progresses with descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, regression and ends with forecasting; the latter introduces Operational Research (OR), focuses on optimization, complements this with stakeholder involvement technique(s) and ends with a wrap-up and an assessment-related session. We will get hands on with MS Excel during some of the sessions. Some sessions require pre-reading while others will work around a quick case on the day. We may have some guest speakers for some of the sessions. The ultimate goal is to widen the knowledge, tools, and insights to demystify BA tools and explore their potential in organizations.
