This module focuses on the change agent, power relationships, stakeholder management and action planning. In addition, a key element of the module will address the challenges of how to evaluate the effectiveness of change programmes.
This module will focus on identifying:
• The tasks and skills of the change agent;
• Political skills and dynamics;
• Dimensions of organisational effectiveness;
• Evaluation of change programmes;
• Developing a personal action plan for participants

Learning Outcomes
On concluding this module, participants will have deeper insight into:
• The personal characteristics and desired values of change agents;
• The importance of political skills in leading change;
• The design and assessment of evaluation studies of change programmes;
• The ingredients that contribute to the development of a learning organisation;
• The development of a personal action plan to apply the lessons from the Diploma for enhanced effectiveness.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
The module has a detailed study guide. Students are required to complete the module pre-reading or pre-work prior to attending the seminar sessions. The sessions themselves will be a combination of lectures, group discussion, in-class presentations, case study discussions and classroom exercises. A heavy emphasis in the seminars is on teasing out the implications of theory for practical application in a workplace context.’
