SBUS41870 Individ Level Interventions

Academic Year 2023/2024

This module will focus on various interventions to enhance leadership and managerial impact. A series of psychometric assessments will be evaluated in this module. Participants will complete a psychometric test, evaluate its impact and identify situations where such interventions would be useful. In addition, the module will address the key persuasion and influence tactics that are required of the change agent.

• Focus on key emotional skills of an effective manager
• How to leverage emotional intelligence in organisation change management
• Identify principles for effective influencing as a leader
• Develop a methodical approach to devising an influencing strategy
• Practice the application of influencing principles to real-world workplace situations.

• A template for influential leadership of change initiatives
• A strategic approach for influence others, whether in individual or group situations

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
The module has a detailed study guide. Students are required to complete the module pre-reading or pre-work prior to attending the seminar sessions. The sessions themselves will be a combination of lectures, group discussion, in-class presentations, case study discussions and classroom exercises. A heavy emphasis in the seminars is on teasing out the implications of theory for practical application in a workplace context.’
