On successful completion of the module, students should show understanding of:
What is expected in module assessments;
Appropriate presentation styles for academic work.
Appropriate evidence sources to support arguments;
How to use electronic resources to find information, evaluate it, and use it in an academic assignment;
How to communicate knowledge logically and coherently in written and poster formats.
How to present a critical piece of writing and reference it according to a standard citation system;
How to achieve specified tasks within given time limits and exhibit self-directed learning skills;
How they could change their approach to studying in order to learn at a deeper level;
2. PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
On successful completion of the module, students should show understanding of:
What is expected of a Radiography student in a professional environment;
The key features of professionalism and their application to clinical practice;
The medico-legal context of clinical practice;
Understand the patients perspective through interactive patient educator sessions.
Discuss relevant professional issues related to the practice of Radiography;
Understand the need for critical study as the basis for evidence based professional practice.
The indicative curricular content relates to two main topics 1. Study skills for 3rd level learning, and 2. Professional skills for the clinical radiography context students will encounter in Semester 2.
