PSYC40240 Psychotherapy Exercises 1

Academic Year 2022/2023

PPE is a way of integrating the learning from all other course modules with trainees personal and professional experience. There will be several different experiential and reflective tasks designed to promote self-reflexivity in students. These come from an understanding that supervision, training, and therapeutic practice are all connected through the processes of learning and development. The PPE group experiences including a progressive and more advanced understanding as each year progresses will contribute to a greater awareness of the role students’ own life and professional experiences play in their professional practice online and face to face. The module will assist student learning about the complexity of the process of change in oneself and others. PPE is a module that continue across the four years of the programme with the aim to continue to foster students’ personal reflections and self-reflexivity. (For an overview of PPE across Y1-Y4 see Appendix G in the Programme Handbook).
