Curricular information is subject to change.

PPDI is a way of integrating the learning from all other course modules with trainees personal and professional experience. There will be several different experiential and reflective tasks designed to promote self-reflexivity in students. These come from an understanding that supervision, training, and therapeutic practice are all connected through the processes of learning and development. These group experiences, including a progressive and more advanced understanding of the personal genogram as each year progresses, will contribute to a greater awareness of the role students’ own personal and professional experiences play in their professional practice online and face to face. The module will assist students learning about the complexity of the process of change in oneself and others. PPDI is a module that continues across the four years of the programme with the aim to continue to foster students’ personal reflections and self-reflexivity.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

The students will acquire an expanded range of personal and cultural knowledge arising from reflection upon the
connection between their own life experience and their experiences of professional practice. Additionally, students will learn about the way in which the ethical character of therapeutic practice is shaped by the centrality of such reflection. Students will also be assisted to make connections between the ethics of professional practice and the ethics of research on professional practice.
