This module commences in the Autumn Trimester and continues during the Spring Trimester with the majority of seminars and
workshops in this Trimester. The module will prepare students to conduct a small-scale study that contributes to systemic theory, practice, research and training. It will consist of a number of seminars and workshops which will allow students to:
● Explore key issues pertaining to the completion of the literature review.
● Explore key ethical issues in conducting clinical research and discuss how to prepare an ethics approval application.
● Practice with research methods skills development, e.g., recruitment, interviewing, data analysis.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

● A developed understanding of the value of research for systemic practice.
● An advanced understanding of different research design and key methodological approaches utilised in systemic practice.
● An appreciation of the challenges of undertaking a piece of research in a chosen area from a systemic social constructionist perspective with due consideration for ethical concerns.
