This module will take place during Autumn and Spring Trimesters and will comprise seminars of both 1 and 1.5-hours duration
each. The module will introduce students to a range of contemporary Systemic Psychotherapy literature relating to the following areas: Adult Mental Health; Emerging Family Forms as they present in therapy; Promoting Anti-discriminatory Practice; Couples in therapy; and some challenging themes in current Systemic Practice.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

● An extensive and contemporary knowledge of Systemic Psychotherapy
literature.
● An ability to describe differences and similarities between approaches in
systemic psychotherapy including theories of change.
● An understanding of the impact of the socio-cultural context on knowledge
production and knowledge in practice.
● An enriched knowledge of, and sensitivity to, the ethical character of
professional practice including a capacity to consider and apply ethical
decision-making processes in the context of practice dilemmas.
● The capacity to demonstrate a commitment to anti-discriminatory practice.
