Curricular information is subject to change.

Students will read key material from the work of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan, with an emphasis on the application of psychoanalytic principles in a contemporary clinical practice. There will be an examination of the relationship between written theoretical texts and the making of clinical judgments, with students actively working on the question of what it is to practice psychoanalytically and how such a practice can be articulated in writing. This writing will constitute the production of research in the field.
