On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
(1) demonstrate knowledge of a range of key environmental and governance issues pertaining to planning for human-nature interactions;
(2) demonstrate an advanced ability to apply concepts and theoretical knowledge to the formulation of policy for managing such human-nature interactions.
Specific approaches addressed include: ecosystems services approaches to nature conservation; collaborative management; biodiversity action plans; the biosphere reserve concept; and green infrastructure planning.
