PLAN30010 Transport, Environment & Sustainability

Academic Year 2022/2023

This module is focussed on understanding the interactions between transport, the environment and its relationship with future sustainability concerns. The first part of the module introduces key concepts and ideas related to urban transportation, the development of contemporary cities and key principles associated with sustainable transport systems. The second part of the module introduces the scope of transport-environment relations focussing on the impact of transport on the environment. The final part of the module discusses best practice solutions/case studies for integrating environmental considerations into transport planning policy and decision-making.

2. Understand the nexus between transportation, the environment and its role in sustainable development ;
