Apply evidence base practice approach to a research question within a clinical diagnostic laboratory. The module will allow students to apply and demonstrate clinical and scientific principles and theory as obtained in the course’s previous modules. This research module will require students to work independently within the clinical diagnostic laboratory and to take responsibility for planning and organising their research with support of and liaison with incumbent staff.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
Students will receive local training in their host laboratory on practical aspects to the study including sample preparation, maintenance and running of analytical equipment, troubleshooting and QMS tools and acquisition of results from analysers or other software e.g. laboratory information system
