On completion of this module, students should have gained a good understanding of the nature, production and behavior of indirectly ionising radiations (photon and neutrons) and directly ionising radiation (electrons, heavy charged particles), and their interactions with matter. Students should have also become familiar with the quantities and units used for describing radiation fields and the interation of ionizing radiation with matter.
