PHYC10130 Physics II Medical Science

Academic Year 2022/2023

The module is directed at students in Medical Science and Life Science programmes. Students are introduced to the concepts and basic principles of electricity, magnetism, electromagnetism, modern physics including waves, nuclear physics and applications. The physical principles of devices such as the electric pacemaker, mass spectrograph and cyclotron are explained.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module the student should have a good knowledge of the basic principles of electricity, magnetism, electromagnetism, waves, electromagnetic radiation, nuclear physics and practical applications and be aware of the importance of these topics in the context Medical and Life Sciences.
Students should also be capable of solving problems related to material studied as part of the module.
