This module builds upon the core stage 3 module Research Methods. In this module students will apply the skills gained in stage 3 to undertake field work data collection. Within groups students will consolidate their knowledge in relation to literature review and problem-solving, as well as research methodologies while critically evaluating an aspect of contemporary health care. On completion the group will disseminate their work in the form of a paper ready for submission to a target journal, together with a poster.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
1. Understand, select and employ appropriate research methodologies to evaluate an aspect of contemporary health care 2. Analyse, synthesise, critically evaluate, the data collected. 3. Present a piece of scientific writing developed following an effective team engagement process. 4. Present a poster for a conference.

Small student groups will work with a supervisor to define an area of study, undertake the research and write up their work. There is a collaborative teaching and learning approach associated with this module.
