Upon completion of this module students should be able to:
i. describe the pathophysiology in a range of conditions pertinent to dietetic practice
ii. identify and appreciate the role of commonly prescribed drugs for the management of medical conditions for which nutrition/dietetic interventions are required
iii. understand drug-nutrient interactions for commonly prescribed medications
iv. demonstrate medical knowledge and understanding relevant to conditions commonly managed in dietetics practice
v. demonstrate an ability to integrate medical knowledge with dietetic practice and interventions

Class Presentation in Pairs: The module co-ordinator assesses the quality of presentations including the content, relevance, accuracy, use of peer-reviewed literature, visual, verbal and non-verbal communication tools, and presentation effectiveness. Written feedback on components of the presentation are provided to student pairs. MCQs: scores are visible to students through Brightspace once published by the module coordinator. End of semester case study coursework: Written feedback is provided through Brightspace, and on request students may request additional feedback.
