This is a 30-credit thesis. It is the core requirement of the MSc in Occupational Medicine (Upgrade). The thesis requires original research to be undertaken.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the thesis students will:1. Demonstrate ability to critically evaluate the medical and occupational literature2. Demonstrate understanding of study protocol development, basic data analysis, referencing systems.3. Demonstrate ablity to present key research findings in oral and written formats.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
This is a student self-directed module, under supervision by the Module Coordinator.
In this module the student will be advised in relation to literature searching, critical writing, questionnaire development (if indicated), display of results in appropriate tables and figures, referencing.
