On completion of this module students should be able to:A. Demonstrate an understanding of (i) female reproductive physiology from conception to senescence; specific emphasis on physiological changes of pregnancy and puerperium, (ii) Normal labour and parturition, ((iii) physiology of the neonate and common neonatal problems, (iv) common diseases peculiar to women, including malignant disease of the genital tract, (v) contraception and family planning, (vi) ethical and moral issues relating to reproduction.B. Demonstrate satisfactory ability to perform clinical assessment in the following - (i) abdominal and pelvic examination of non-pregnant women, (ii) abdominal examination of pregnant women (iii) examination of the newborn infant, (iv) conduct of a normal vaginal delivery. Obstetrics and Gynaecology will be a pre-requisite module for the Final Professional Completion Module.
