This module aims to advance the student's knowledge and understanding of the best, evidence-based clinical care of the person in Primary Health Care by enhancing their ability to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene and evaluate care. The module enables the student to demonstrate competency in the six domains outlined in the Clinical Competency Assessment Tool (CCAT).

The module enables students to demonstrate evidence of leadership and quality and awareness of the importance of professional, individual, and collective responsibility for delivering high-quality and safe patient care. It enables the student to apply knowledge, skills, and understanding of specialist theory to patient care and will require the participant to demonstrate competence within their professional Primary Care practice on an ongoing basis.

Repeat assessment on this module means the student will have one opportunity to undertake the module after the first fail grade has been submitted to the PEB. The timeframe for the repeat assessment will be a one-trimester clinical placement in the trimester following the original trimester offering.
